The blockade, imposed during the fighting, had snarled energy exports and forced vessels to reroute around the region. Its removal is tied to the broader understanding to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the waterway through which a large share of the world's seaborne oil passes.
Trade routes begin to normalize
Shipping and energy analysts said the move should gradually restore traffic to pre-war patterns, though insurers and carriers were expected to remain cautious until the ceasefire proves durable.
The step is among the first concrete actions under the memorandum signed by the two governments, and officials pointed to it as evidence the agreement was moving from paper to practice.
